DR MARTENS AND SLAM JAMS FIRST COLLABORATION

The cult brands of streetwear Dr. Martens and Slam Jam have teamed up to recreate the iconic 1461 style in a special edition. The two brands reshaped the timeless silhouette of the 1461 shoe in a workwear aesthetic embraced by electro-musical subcultures. This first collaboration blends industrial design with contemporary streetwear to engage wearers and stand out from the crowd.

This collaboration was initiated as part of Slam Jam’s (Un)corporate Uniforms project. Launched in 2020, (Un)corporate Uniforms is Slam Jam’s private label project focusing on the concept of uniforms as a way to show that a person belongs to a definite cultural movement.

Dr. The Martens x Slam Jam design is available for sale on both parties’ websites and in Slam Jam’s physical stores.

Originating from a garage in Ferrara, Italy in 1989, Slam Jam was on the scene before streetwear became mainstream. Considered one of the streetwear gurus, its founder, Luca Benini, played an important role in the industry by founding the first Italian company in the country to distribute cool American streetwear brands; It brought brands such as Stussy and Alpha Industries to Italian and European fame. The aim of Slam Jam was to create a sense of style open to everyone by blending music, art and clubbing in general.

Slam Jam, Dr. He joins a group of designers and artists with whom Martens collaborated to reinterpret shoes made in the 1960s for postal workers and police officers. Collaborations in recent years include A-Cold-Wall, Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Supreme, Undercover and Marc Jacobs. As reported, last week Dr. The first part of the Martens x Rick Owens collaboration is also on sale.
